Micah made his first website over ten years ago – a single, unattractive page on Geocities. He used the website-building wizard to generate a page with a header, a paragraph, and a bullet list. Borrowing a book on HTML from his dad, he continued building sites, but every one after the first was hand-coded in a text editor.
Since then, he’s gone to Texas Tech University and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design Communication. During this time, between working nights, he immersed himself in typography, illustration, visual systems, and many other aspects of graphic design.
Although the design program did not deal much with websites, after college he began to once again stretch his HTML-coding muscles. Taking a job at an ISP in his hometown, he soon learned to create CSS-based layouts, reviving his appreciation and obsession for clean markup.
He now lives in Austin, Texas, doing freelance work for various people, as well as fulltime work at Apartment Home Living. He has a hundred things he wants to work on, but only ever manages to do three things at a time.
